Statement on Domestic Abuse Protection Orders
Released 26 November 2025
We are pleased to see the progress made issuing domestic abuse protection orders, within the police pilot. The orders which enforce restrictions, include banning perpetrators from posting harmful content online, the central focus point for this year’s 16 Days of Activism.
With a domestic abuse report made every 40 seconds to the police, it is essential measures like the new protection order are implemented, whilst working closely with victims and victim services. These protection orders alone will not eliminate harm, and we hope this tool is effectively enforced by the police and broader criminal justice system, to better protect those at risks.
Looking forward, it is vital domestic abuse protection orders are expanded and made available nationwide. We acknowledge an expected national rollout by the UK Government and call for clarity on this schedule, as part of their 10-year mission to halve violence against women and girls.

Released 24 October 2025
Putting Children’s safety first: A historic step forward
The Change Project proudly supports the Government’s recent announcement, to repeal the presumption of parental contact. Simply, this removes the legal presumption that it is safer and better for the child to have contact with both parents.
This change is the result of dedicated years of campaigning and unwavering commitment by Claire Throssell MBE, countless survivors and organisations.
Thank you for paving another step forward in creating a safer future for children.
